Steve brings a breadth of business experience to the Northern Michigan Angels including insurance company executive management, human resource management, sales and marketing and board experience in both for profit and not for profit settings. Steve is the retired Chair and Chief Executive of Homesteaders Life Company (West Des Moines, Iowa) Prior to this, Steve helped to start and grow Forethought Financial Services where he served as Chief Executive of this now a multi-Billion dollar life insurer. The first 10 years of his career was spent in the Energy Industry as a human resource specialist covering fields of compensation, organization planning and executive development. Steve currently serves on the Board of GTSB Holdings, a Traverse City bank holding Company and on the Mortuary Science Board of Examiners for the State of Michigan. Steve holds his master’s degree from Michigan State University from the School of Human Resource Management and Labor Relations.
